Cloud become a member of SOLDIER at a young age, but for some reason or another he left Shinra to become a mercenary, taking any kind of job for money. A group AVALANCHE hired him to help them on a mission. He didn't realize that this mission would forever change his life. With his gigantic sword there is no enemy that can stop him. As the story progresses however, questions will abound around him. When did he enter SOLDIER? Why doesn't Tifa remember him coming to Nibelhelm with Sephiroth? And how did he end up in Nibelhelm?

Barret is a strong individual. He is the leader of the rebel team AVALANCHE. He is on a quest to stop Shinra from taking the life of the planet (Mako Energy). He has a young daughter named Marlene whom he is always hesitant to leave behind. Though not said until a bit into the game, players are to believe that Shinra is in someway responsible for the death of his wife. One of his good points is his strength and ability to stay in the back ranks of the party because of his long range weapons. |

Tifa and Cloud have been friends since they were children, but were separated when Cloud left Nibelhelm to become a member of SOLDIER. Tifa left Nibelhelm when here parents passed away and went to Midgar. She opened Seventh Heaven, and became a part of AVALANCHE headed by Barret. It is apparent that she has feelings for Cloud, but she never mentions this openly.

Aeris is young, beautiful, and caring, as well as a little mysterious. She first appears while escaping from the Mako reactor and sells flowers to you. She has been pursued by Shinra's Turks most of her life. Because of her being an Ancient she seems to be the key to the Promised Land according to Shinra. She likes Cloud, and unlike Tifa, makes this obvious to those around her.

The name Red XIII is the name that he was given by Hojo. His real name is Nanaki. He is a fierce beast with very high intelligence. He can produce some pretty strong attacks. Although he's an animal, he can speak english (or japanese). He often curses his father's cowardice until events unfold at the completion of the Gi Cave under Cosmo Canyon.

Cait Sith is an odd character which everyone likes but is usually not willing to put in the party. A cat rides around on the back of a huge stuffed toy that he says he "magically brought to life". He loves shouting out orders with his giant megaphone. You come across him when he offers to tell you fortune. He joins when he wants to see if his predictions will come true.

Cid is funny to see because he always says swear words. Cid is a great pilot and mechanic and his dream is to travel in space. Cid's dreams were crushed when the flight was canceled because of Shera and her doubts that the oxygen tanks had problems. You'll find him fixing the ship and happy because Shinra is coming to town and he thinks they're going to reinstate the space program and have his dreams fulfilled. |

Vincent is quite cool. His presence is quite intimidating. He apparently has a good soul but only around one person, Lucrecia. He was apparently experimented on by Shinra after attempting to stop an experiment. There's a lot to this story, but it will be told to you after you talk to Lucrecia on disc 2 (you'll need the submarine or a chocobo that can cross mountains). The only problem is that you don't have to get him in the game so he isn't in the CG sequences. Also nothing quite like a character with a gun.
Finding Vincent: Vincent is found in the Midgar Mansion in the basement. You need the key from the safe upstairs first though and the combination for the safe is right 36, left 10, right 59, right 97. You will have to beat a boss first though called Lost Number. After beating him you hit the action button to pick the key up. |

Yuffie spends her time hunting down materia in an attempt to bring Wutai to power and not just as a tourist spot. She is kind of reluctant to join at first, but joins after talking to her for a minute. Her motives turn out to be stealing your materia. She also doesn't like traveling on airships. Lastly travel to Wutai after getting the Tiny Bronco
Finding Yuffie: I know of two forests that you can find Yuffie in. I've seen her in the forest near Junon and the forest south of Cosmo Canyon. If you fight here enough she will appear in a battle. Simply defeat her. Then do these things: Don't go to the save point, don't open the menu, don't insult her, and don't lose sight of her. Go up and talk to her and say these things: First say "Not Interested", then ".....petrified", next "Wait a second", then ".....that's right", and last say ".....Let's hurry on".

Now you may be wondering why I have those nice CG pictures of all the characters except Yuffie and Vincent. Now that answer is pretty simple actually. Square made those characters 100% optional in the game. (although I'm sure just about everyone who played ff7 got them) So due to this fact Square also didn't include them in any of the CG Movies. You see, if they were included in the movies and someone didn't know who they were they would be all confused and not know what's happening. So that's why.
